BEVO BLOG: Don't count your chickens edition.

Ok ,Texas and Florida fans, book your flights and hotels for Pasadena. It's the 'Horns vs the Gators for the National Champsionship.

To quote the great Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friend."

There is no doubt in my mind that there is any sense of complacency in the minds of Mack Brown, Urban Meyer or any coach in the BCS hunt. Or their teams.

This has been, in a word, a NUTTY college football season. USC and OU out of contention? Cinncinati IN contention? Les Nesman is beside himself.

In this age of no-huddle offenses, the spread, the wildcat, all bets are off. Especially if you're in a football pool and tearing your hear out about point spreads each week.

Texas and Florida do control their destinies. Just win and you're in. But both teams have a few games left to play, games full of landmines hidden here, there and everywhere along the way.

Which ever teams make the BCS Champsionship will get there because of relentless focus in the remaining weeks of the season.

As for pundits and fans, don't count any chickens. In fact, stay the heck away from the henhouse period. Don't even eat chicken. Beef, it's what's for fans.
