YourHub: Redesigned and streamlined

It's a been a long time coming, but YourHub.com has been streamlined, redesigned and made generally more awesome.

Here's a quick walkthrough of the changes:

The look
The most noticeable change you've probably already seen is the design. If you're a Denver Post subscriber and have seen the YourHub.com print section lately (which contains the best of the Web and is delivered to home subscribers of The Post every Thursday), this look is already familiar to you. Stories, blogs and event listings have all be made easier to read and navigate so you can find the content you want more quickly. Not from Denver? Find your neighborhood with the "Change Location" menu at the top of the page.

Photos
We've improved and enlarged our photo galleries so that we can finally do your great photos justice.

Speed
Software updates and upgrades, not to mention rewriting some code, have made the site snappier and more responsive. This is something we're always striving to improve.

Content
Strong local content from the YourHub.com editorial staff can be found on these home pages, as well as business profiles of stores in your neighborhoods. And of course, the best content posted by you and your neighbors will be front and center.

Tweet, tweet, tweet
If you want an easy way to see the best stories from your neighborhood and other hubs in the metro area, you can follow us on Twitter. We're @yourhub and we'll be updating links and YourHub.com news all week long (I promise, we won't jam up your feed).

Get started
Now that you've seen all the new bits, it's time to do your part and start posting. If you haven't already, get registered, then post a story, event or start a blog. We're looking forward to reading your stuff, and so are your neighbors.

Well, what do you think? Let us know your thoughts and suggestions in the comments below.

Final update (for now):After a long week of on-the-fly fixes for pesky site bugs, all should be well on YourHub.com. Please, post your stories, photos and blogs and let me know at lubberse@YourHub.com how your experience with the redesigned site goes.

Glad to see that you are working on the missing stats. I really need that feedback to keep me encouraged to write! As far as the missing Brendan's List; who cares. He never changed the list. It was the same four bloggers for months and months. Overall, I think this has improved the site A LOT!! It looks more professional.

Hey Mick, we're not sure why the stats are missing from the my stuff page, and that will be fixed soon, as will the link to Brendan's List on the front page. We love our bloggers, we were just trying to keep the front page lean and mean to load faster. I'm not sure what you mean by your first point. Care to clarify?

It has now become virtually impossible to see other blogs outside of the home site. Also, I can no longer check my stuff to see if the 3 people who read mine have done so.... You have Sodoku and Police Blotter up on top (??????), but no Brendan's List. Me guessing you want us bloggers to go away?

The new look is nice but the performance is hardly improved from the old. Very disappointing. :-(

Okay, try this again site is twitchy for uploading photos from the mac version, not using java. I have tried multiple times and different sizes to post a photo of me on my profile to no avail, it was sent each time the modem showed it was being sent. What do you suggest?

The new design looks sharp! The slideshow of top stories is appealing. Adding the Facebook app. was a great idea as well.

I keep getting an error message that says a milestone date is required. I have cleared my cache and it still is not allowing me to post.

This is fantastic! Thank you :o)

Looks good, Broham!
