My son, Ron and I went to the Kenny Rogers concert last Thursday night at the CityLights Pavillion by the Pepsi Center. The weather was perfect and it was fun to be there in a large friendly crowd.
The opening act was pretty awful. 2 young fellows that we had never heard of and hope we never hear again. Oh well, maybe I am being too harsh but we both were very happy when they were finished.
The crowd went wild when Kenny Rogers came on stage, he is still poplular. Ron and I were impressed with how good he still is, with white hair and white beard!
He sang most of his well known songs and a couple new ones that were beautiful.
He has a really good band.
Of course, we all got to help with" Lucille", singing " you picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille". Bob used to sing that song a lot so it remended us of him. He loved country western, mostly the old songs.
I am always amazed that my sons will go to concerts that I like. They never complain about having to drag their mother around. Ron and I had a great time.
