My son Ron asked me if I would like to go out to lunch today. What a silly question. Of course I would like to go out to lunch. Never mind that my clothes are shrinking something awful. I have half heartedly been trying to lose a few pounds before I go on a trip this next week.
Anyway, back to my lunch story. Ron said he wanted to take me to a restaurant that he had just discovered in Westminster, near 92nd and Sheridan.
He assured me he knew exactly where it was and about 30 minutes later he finally stopped and asked a very nice man at Albertsons who took him across the parking lot and pointed out the restaurant to him.
Yes, we were on the wrong side of Sheridan.
The restaurant is called Pappadieux which sounded an awful lot like Papa Joes to me.
I have to tell you this place is expensive. I also have to tell you that the food is wonderful!
There is a large old fishing boat parked outside which gives you a clue that it is a seafood restaurant but they also have some New Orleans style dishes like gumbos and blackened spicy fish entrees. I had the best crab cakes that I have ever eaten.
I really enjoyed going with Ron.
On Sunday, I will be heading for South Bend, Indiana for a week.
