I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native. My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt. (Retired), the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (5)

Wasted money.

I just read Rob Guthries' blog about author Steven King. I have liked some of his books such as" Insommnia". He does not sound like a nice person.
At least ,Rob, you didn't waste money on Dannielle Steeles' book " Toxic Bachelors" like I did. I used to enjoy her books even though they were a bit silly. I could always get caught up in her stories and finish them. Now though, her books are pretty dull.
I am a huge John Grisham fan. I read every book he writes and have not been disappointed. I also like James Patterson.
I wish I could say that I enjoy some of the deeper authors. When I took literature in college, I had to read "Canterbury Tales". That was pure misery. " Giants in the Earth" was great as was " Mutiny on the Bounty"
.At my age, I read for pleasure so I stick to novels that are exciting.
Mayor Hickenloopers picks have been good. "Peace Like a River" was very good as were the others.
Hey, I guess I needed someone to talk about books with. Thanks!

I like John Steinbeck too. I have been to Cannery Row and to his house in California. 'Travels with Charlie" is a good book by him.

Some of my favorites in high school were by Steinbeck. I loved "Of Mice and Men" and thought "Cannery Row" was good as well.
