Gladys Mercier, Arvada.
I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native.My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt., the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (3)

The Arvada Harvest Festival is getting closer and all of you able bodied people can help raise money for a great organization and have fun too.
DDRC is the recipient of the funds raised from the September 9th run.
In cse you are not acquainted with them, this stands for Developmental Disabilities Resource Center.They help families keep their disabled members in their own homes as long as possible and have day programs for the consumers where they can have a good time and their caregivers can have some freedom.
I have first rate info about this great place since my neice, Patty goes to Gray Street 4 days a week and that gives me a break from caring for her.
I have only good things to say about DDRC.
There is a 5 mile run at 8:00 A.M. and a 3 mile run at 9:00 A.M at North Jeffco Park, 9101 W.58th Ave.
You must register by September 8th and can do so online at "Arvada Harvest Festival" and click on the DDRC information.

Gladys, A very worthy cause. If I attempted to do either of those races, I would be in the Coronary Care unit at St. Anthonys. However, I will look into supporting DDRC through other ways. I hope the races raise a lot of money.

Gladys, this is, indeed a good cause. As one who's child has benefitted from DDRC services (my wife used to work for them, until we had our own "special needs" child) I'm glad to see this opportunity for folks to support a worthwhile organization. By the way, next time I steam Blue Crabs, I'm saving some for you! Bill
