Blog Entry 9 of 13 The Seth Files
My name is Seth and I am the community journalist for the Arvada/Wheat Ridge area. Instead of trying to narrow my blog down to a specific topic, I figure I might as well just wing it and see what happens. And since this is my first attempt ever at blogging, I hope you will take the plunge with me and start your own blog.

These are the days of your lives
Contributed by: Seth Davis/YourHub.com staff   on 1/16/2008

I mentioned briefly inmy Jan. 10 column in our print section that we are going to be putting out a special day-in-the-life section for the Arvada-Wheat Ridge area, and I really want to encourage you to get involved with this endeavor.

The staff here at YourHub.com came up with a list of interesting local people to follow around for a day and record their unique experiences. A sampling of this list includes a pastry chef, a brewmaster from a local pub, a mayor and an employee of Wheat Ridge Cyclery.

While we did our best to think of people who would be good subjects for stories, I'm pretty positive that you might know of at least one person who you've always thought leads an interesting life. Maybe it's a family member, maybe it's your neighbor. Even if it's someone you barely know - such as your pet's veterinarian or a teacher at your children's school - now's a great time to find out more about that person by writing about a day in his or her life.

Along with your story, it would be especially helpful to post a photo or 10 of your muse involved in the activity that inspired you to write the story.

To post your story, justcomplete the free registration process. After registering, go to the Arvada or Wheat Ridge hubs, click on "Stories & Photos" and then select the "Faces of" category.

The Lakewood-Edgewater community has had plenty of success with its residents writing and posting stories for the inaugural day-in-the-life edition, so you can visit http://denver.yourhub.com/facesoflakewood to get an idea of the type of story we are looking for.

Not to sound like I'm in a competition with the Lakewood and Edgewater hubs or anything, but I feel like people from Arvada and Wheat Ridge have the potential to contribute even more quality stories.

For your story to be considered for the day-in-the-life edition, which will come out Feb. 23, you will have to post it online by Feb. 14. If we are not able to fit your story and photos in the day-in-the-life section, we will do our best to include it in a later print edition.

After covering the Arvada-Wheat Ridge area for more than a year now and having the chance to meet some of its more interesting personalities, I'm excited to get the chance to help produce an entire section dedicated to them.

Thanks for reading, and we look forward to reading your stories about people from your community.
