Blog Entry 10 of 13 The Seth Files
My name is Seth and I am the community journalist for the Arvada/Wheat Ridge area. Instead of trying to narrow my blog down to a specific topic, I figure I might as well just wing it and see what happens. And since this is my first attempt ever at blogging, I hope you will take the plunge with me and start your own blog.

We need your day-in-the-life stories by Feb. 13

We received copies of the Faces of Lakewood and Edgewater special edition this week, and I have to say it turned out really well. We had a great mix of staff stories and stories written by people from that community, all detailing a day in the life of local personalities. If you want to see what it looks like online, go to http://denver.yourhub.com/facesoflakewood.

Now it's time for the Arvada-Wheat Ridge community to write about and photograph its intriguing people. All you have to do in order to possibly have your writing included in the special section that will be delivered with The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News on Saturday, Feb. 23 is this:

1) Spend a few hours or a whole day with someone who has an interesting job or is involved in a captivating activity in Arvada or Wheat Ridge. Bring along a note pad to get quotes and take notes. And any photos you can include are helpful, so be sure to have your camera ready.

2) After you have written your story (about 500 words is our suggested length, but you can go longer or shorter if you want), go to either the Arvada or Wheat Ridge hub and choose the "Faces of" category. Type your headline, fill the text box with what you've written and attach any photos you took.

3) Make sure your story is posted by Feb. 13 so we can have time to consider it for inclusion in the special edition. Even if we aren't able to fit it in the Faces of Arvada and Wheat Ridge edition, we will still do our best to use it in a future print section.

After seeing how the Lakewood-Edgewater community came together to talk about some of its captivating members, I'm excited to see what Arvada and Wheat Ridge can do. This is your chance to show what your area has to offer.
