I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native. My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt., the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (3)

The Simpsons again!

Can you stand another story about my family? I was so proud when I saw the Denver Post business page yesterday with a story and photo of my nephew, Don Simpson and his two sons.
As the story says, they are helping to create a 1.3 billion resort/ residence in British Columbia, the Revelstoke Mountain Resort..
They plan 25 ski lifts and more than 100 ski runs and a base village with 5000 residential units!
Don has loved extreme skiing for a long time and formerly had a house in Telluride where he and his brother Bob loved the skiing.
Don grew up watching and helping his dad, who is my brother Harold, build apartments in Denver and other states. From the stories I have heard, he was not always a big helper when he was a kid. Bud Friskney remembers Don painting a closet . He painted one side, then pushed the clothes over to paint the other side. Oh wow, Harold got some complaints about paint on clothing!
Don grew up to be a very savvy businessman and has passed that on to his children.
Don is now the chairman of Grand Peaks Properties in Denver.
I baby sat Don and his brother Bob and sister Gail many times when their parents traveled. Bob and I got to stay in their beautiful home and had a great time with the kids. They loved to play tricks on us so we had to really watch out!
Then they grew up and I adopted my kids so a lot of time passes before we see each other again.
I love Don dearly, he has always been so nice to me.
I am happy for his success.

Am I the only one wondering if there are going to be free lift tickets involved? Oh. I'd be proud, too, Gladys.
