I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native. My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt., the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (3)

Going Places!
Contributed by: Gladys Mercier   on 5/25/2007

I am always surprised that my grown children invite me to go on their vacations with them! I am ashamed to say that I can't remember ever asking my mother to go with me on a trip. She really did not like to travel, so maybe that can be a good excuse. If I had it to do over though, I would invite her along. It really does make us older people feel good.
I have gone with them to Virginia Beach, Pensacola, New Orleans and Las Vegas.
Next week, Don, Janet and my little great granddaughter are going to California. We are flying first to San Diego where we will take in all the fun things and have dinner with my brother and sister-in-law.
Then we will rent a car and drive to Anaheim to the Disneyland Hotel for a few days. Tiana has a " Princess lunch date" there that we will go to with her.
She is very excited. She will be 5 years old this summer and that is the perfect age for Disneyland. She is not afraid of anything so she will enjoy the rides.
I will get to spend time with my good friend Mary whom I haven't seen for several years.
My son Ron will be staying here to help care for my disabled neice, Patty, along with Bob's neice Tammy so she will be in good hands.
I don't know what I would do without this help from them and want to take this opportunity to thank them. Also, thank you Don and Janet for asking me to go!
Thank you Ron!
Thank you Tammy!

Great Barbara, I am ready and willing. Not Disneyland though for at least 10 years.

Safe trip, Gladys. I hope you have tons of fun in Disneyland. That's where all the athletes go after they've won championships. Or is that Disneyworld?
