I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native. My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt., the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (3)

Playful summer evenings

I am looking forward to seeing the Elitch Theater restored next year.
When Bob and got married, I liked movies, but he preferred plays. We went to the Elitch Theater for several plays and did enjoy them. There was no air conditioning in the theater at that time, the late 1950s and in the '60s, but by the evening it had usually cooled off at the park.

We saw a good show with Debbie Reynolds on a very rainy night. We were soaked by the time we got to the theater as was everyone else there. Debbie joked about how much we must love her to come out on a night like that and we did love her. She was joined onstage by a man from the Denver areawho has a wonderful voice, Harve Presnell. When he sang the beautiful song, They Call the Wind Mariah, it made the whole evening special.Debbie sang some of the songs from Paint Your Wagon.

One evening I will never forget. This was at the time when long dresses were getting popular, so I went shopping and bought a very nice long dress to wear to the play that night. Wow, did I ever feel dressed up. However, when I got home, I noticed that the price tag was still dangling from the sleeve of my new dress!
I don't remember the play, but I remember that!

Harve Presnell singing Maria is one of my all time favorite songd from one of my all time favorite movies. I love the burial scene at the beginning. And who new Clint could sing? I'm straight, by the way.
