Blog Entry 14 of 30 Musings and Misc nonsense
I just finished up my degree in Business/Marketing (big smile), February 2008. I know I'll need to replace all the great discussions from classes and hope to do that here.. and the occasional rant. Personally, I have a first new grandchild, one 19 yr old left at home... and enjoy online card games.. poker, spades, hearts, euchre.. Oh yeah, I live in Arvada.

The baby.. some just don't know what to look for
Contributed by: Paula Dunbar   on 2/10/2008

Last week was quite interesting.. the babysitter of my granddaugher up and quit in the middle of a day.. saying she screams too much.. the babysitter can't take it anymore... Oh lord.. My daugher, of course, is on her way to pick her up... in tears. She's worried about what is going on...

I got to spend three wonderful days taking care of the baby girl :D .. 9 hours per day. I loved it. I did notice that she would get fussy.. I determined that she didn't feel well. Not to give credit to myself.. but a babysitter should have realized that something was wrong.

It turned out that the new cereal she was on was not agreeing with her system. After I started figuring out that it was probably that, she switched her (you know how it is with a baby) to another cereal. But the caretaker should have figured it out. I can't believe a person designated to be a caretaker.. didn't see the signs that something was wrong. It seemed obvious to me. Although the baby still smiled ... it was obvious she didn't feel well.

Then she was fine. There is more to this story, but suffice to say, I think my 'kids' have found a new babysitter. I think it's a blessing in disguise. A babysitter should know the signs of something being wrong.. or not quite right.

I'm glad I got to know my granddaughter better for three days.. we had fun... and the cats.. and the dog.. that they have lol. Like I said in an earlier post, you get what you ask for...I got to spend time with my granddaugher.. and make a difference.

I'm sure your granddaughter appreciated the time you spent with her, even though she might not be able to say it yet.
