Blog Entry 17 of 30 Musings and Misc nonsense
I just finished up my degree in Business/Marketing (big smile), February 2008. I know I'll need to replace all the great discussions from classes and hope to do that here.. and the occasional rant. Personally, I have a first new grandchild, one 19 yr old left at home... and enjoy online card games.. poker, spades, hearts, euchre.. Oh yeah, I live in Arvada.

Just sitting here reflecting ...

My experience with having a blog is.. I spend more time reflecting on things.

I look back at some entries I'm proud of.. and some I'm not.

Tonight, I'm reflecting on the amount of time my degree took.. how much work I put into it. And now, I have so much more time for other things.. like cleaning.. lol. Sometimes you don't even realize how much time and work you're putting into something you want so badly.. and do it well, until you're done.

I find myself looking for things to do that are productive.. things that need to be done (more than I had before). Where a lot of energy was put into classes, now I'm putting the same energy into other things.. Wow. It's a whole new world..

Tonight, I'm sitting here thinking of my biggest supporters of my education.. those who put up with the occasional, "Oh I can't, I have a big paper to write"... My friends and family who understood my commitment to my education.. and my passion for it.

I'm thankful for my friend, Rich, who doesn't fully appreciate what I've been working toward, but is always there.. even though I could't run off and go do things he thinks I might like. Great to have friends like that, who you don't even have a great deal in common with.. except that you care.

I'm thankful for my parents, who have always supported whatever endeavors I put myself into...

Haha.. lest this sounds like an academy awards speech.. I'll stop now.

But as I sit here reflecting on life as it exists today.. I feel great! I have a long way to go to achieve what I'd like.. oh, a long way.. but I'm on the way.

Congratulations on the degree, Paula. I know it can be grueling sometimes when you're taking classes, but it does feel good when you finally graduate.

Ahhh, not even close to an Academy Awards speech. You are way too modest and not the least bit self-serving. You would never make it in Hollywood, Paula. As for the real world - - - we're lucky to have you. Congrats on the degree. Someday, I say . . . someday . . . I'll join you. Maybe. You know, if I ever get around to it. I admire you. Wish I could stick to something so important . . . well . . . ya know, . . . someday . . .
