Blog Entry 2 of 30 Musings and Misc nonsense
I just finished up my degree in Business/Marketing (big smile), February 2008. I know I'll need to replace all the great discussions from classes and hope to do that here.. and the occasional rant. Personally, I have a first new grandchild, one 19 yr old left at home... and enjoy online card games.. poker, spades, hearts, euchre.. Oh yeah, I live in Arvada.

Animals are smarter than we think

You know, I took my formerly feral cat (meaning wild) to the vet today. It's amazing ... he's actually more appreciative of what he's there for than normal cats. He purred for me, and then the vet. I've never seen a cat understanding that he's there for a reason. We've been there a few times, so yes, he knew what he was in for.

He really knew that he needed medicine ... or something. We didn't know what.

This particular animal hospital, Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, is so good to animals (and reasonable) that my pet actually was happy to be there. Wow ...

I thought he was dying, but it turns out he's not that bad (we hope).

He's still laying in the cat carrier *wink* - nice experience ...

Thanks, Seth. His previous owner came over to see him today.. weird experience... She's a former 'Cat Lady'.. had nine cats at one time... some feral including 'Sam'... now they limit her to 3.. lol. She watched as he got in my lap. and got kisses on the head.. and loved it... and we both thought she was jealous.. who wouldn't be...? She was never able to love him and give love ... or get love from him.. like I do... I thought.. what a shame.. if only she knew how to shut up...

I think you're right, Paula. We often underestimate the intelligence of animals. Glad to have you blogging and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.
