Blog Entry 79 of 169 THOUGHT PROVOKING COLUMNS
In 1860 Mark Twain said, "The shabbiest of all lies is 'silent-assertion', which happens when the media, politicians and church leaders obfuscate, suppress or ignore a social wrong." In his time, it was slavery that led to the Civil War. In the 21st century, it is massive overpopulation growth created by immigration that leads the United States into a Titanic-like course that creates an irreversible crisis with unsolvable problems. This bi-weekly column addresses all aspects of adding 100 million people to the United States by 2040 or the next 33 years. For Colorado, it means an added four to six million residents in a state with water, resources, air pollution and farmland already at risk. The question to Coloradans is: name one advantage to adding 100 million people to America as we add six million to Colorado. These columns cover the consequences as well as offer solutions.

BUSH LOST IN THE FOREST OF HIS MIND

By Frosty Wooldridge

When the president pardoned Scooter Libby, George Bush pardoned himself as well as Dick Cheney.

Why did Bush give a free pass to Libby? Why did Bush subvert the law? Simple: Scooter knew the locations of the bodies that would implicate Bush.

What about Paris Hilton's guilt? Dumb blond, drunk driver, frilly heiress! No defense! Result? Jail for being stupid!

Libby? No jail for knowing more about Bush than Bush would like the world to know. Would Libby sing? Like a parrot!

Bush? He lied about Weapons of Mass Destruction. Result? Hundreds of thousands of deaths! Bankrupting America! Halliburton making billions of dollars! Dick Cheney's stock profits multiplying like rain drops during Hurricane Katrina.

Justice? Rule of law! Forget it!

Bush commuted Libby because he could. Bush breaks the law every day of his presidential kingship. Libby subverted the law, broke the law and laughed at the law. Libby knew what he was doing and he got away with it.

So why won't Bush commute Border Patrol officers Ramos and Campeon who shot a drug smuggler in the butt? Ramos and Campeon sit in jail today for the next 12 years for doing their jobs to prevent drug smugglers from injecting drugs into America. Why do two good men sit in jail while criminal Libby gets off Scott free? Go figure!

Libby's crime? He perjured himself to block an investigation into who leaked the identification of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

Can you imagine the sweat pouring down Cheney's cheeks if Libby talked? We'd see a scandal bigger than the Tea Pot Dome fiasco in the last century.

At the levels of crime we're seeing in the Bush White House, can anyone imagine the money and power wielded enough to make another version of "All the President's Men"?

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "Nothing in politics happens by accident."

If you look at Bush's push for the North American Union, dismantled borders, pro-massive illegal migration, assault on the middle class, loss of U.S. sovereignty-you're looking at a man lost in the forest of his own mind.

Senate Majority leader, the inept Harry Reid said, "Bush's actions are disgraceful. Libby's conviction was the one faint glimmer of accountability for White House efforts to manipulate intelligence and silence critics of the Iraq War."

That proves ironic when you understand that Reid wanders around the halls of Congress under the cloud of suspicion on bogus real estate deals in Nevada.

What happens to Paris Hilton and you, Joe Citizen for breaking the law? You go to jail. What happened to Campeon and Ramos? They suffer jail for upholding the law!

What happens to George Bush? He staggers into the last 18 months of his personal mental-torture-jail based on his lies, incompetence and disregard for the American people and the U.S. Constitution.

Paris Hilton? She's giddy with excitement for her newfound freedom. What a country!
