Blog Entry 1 of 7 Did I Say That?
Well ... chances are pretty good that if you read it here, I said it! I've worn lots of hats; I've walked a lot of trails, so on what I may be opining may be quite varied. I was raised in the Deep South, proudly served in the Army and lived since February 1996 in the Denver metro. I've worked in a fast-food resturant; a computer lab; a college information center; a library; as a Soldier / Linguist in the Army; in a full-service resturant; a comic book shop; the Colorado Department of Institutuions; the Denver Federal Center; a medical staffing agency and now a hospital. I'm a son, brother, friend, father, ex-husband ... and hero (at least to my son). I've met a lot of people and have come to respect most of them. I try to give all of them the "Right to be Wrong." All I ask in return is the same consideration. So keep an open mind about my entries and I'll do the same for you. I might even make sense to some people!

Hilton's horrors
Contributed by: Gene Boshell   on 5/4/2007

Oh, dear! Could it be? Could it really, really be?!?

Yes, Paris, you are going to jail.

I just finished reading through an online article on the perilous path of poor Paris ... no offense to those who are born with blonde hair, but how blonde can you be?

According to the article Ms. Hilton signed a notice in January 2007 notifying her of the suspension of her driving priviledge, a judgement of which she denied any knowledge. In February she was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard for driving without using her headlights (as if there were any lights on in that head). This was the probation-breaking violation that landed her 45 daysin the pokey.

Of course, the defense in the case said that Paris was being singled-out simply because she is a celebrity (I didn't know that being wealthy trash was celebrity, but that's another topic). That's some audacity! If I were the one having made the same violations would the defense stand a chance in declaring that I was being singled-out as an example to the common man? I think not!

And yet I wonder how such bad things could happen to such good people. The artlcle further reports that after the sentence was read Paris' mother, Kathy, yelled at a prosecutor "you're pathetic!" Hey, lady, the law is as the law is ... get to your $600 an hour psychaitraist and get over it.

Of course, the defense intends to appeal to a higher court for a lessening of the sentence. It may happen, but as for now "Paris in the Pokey" is set to begin on June 5th.

I wonder if anyone will knit her a shawl to wear to her post-release press conferece?

Nice. However, Jennifer might have something to say about that "blonde" thing. I'd like to thank you for opening my eyes to the fact that I am halfway to becoming a "celebrity." Now if I could just get the "wealthy" part . . .

I'm not one to revel in another's misery either but this situation is just too much. I think the worst part of it for me has become that Mrs. Hilton berated the prosecution for upholding the law ... now that's pathetic!

I try not to indulge in schadenfreude, but the urge is just too strong here.
