René Heredia is a leading figure in the development of Flamenco and was given the Award by the Carson Brierly Dance Library as a "Living Legend of Dance of Colorado". René was also n ominated by the Colorado Dance Alliance for the "Lifetime Achievement Award of Colorado". René designs and choreographs all his dances around the student's ability no matter which level the student is at: beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate or advanced, all the way up to semi-professional and professional. In pure gypsy fashion, he first teaches "Compas" (rhythm) which is the most important thing you want to learn. The basis of all flamenco is compas! You will also learn to dance with the accompaniment of live guitar and not with recorded tapes as most teachers do. René brings a unique view and knowledge to flamenco with his long and varied history of performance and education with some of Spain's best dancers, singers and guitarists. It has been said that "René is a walking encyclopedia, a treasure trove of knowledge."
