20th annual Pomona Marching Festival

What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS This year's Pomona Marching Festival Invitational, one of the premier marching events in Colorado, is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2008--rain or shine. Twenty-five marching bands from across Colorado, as well as a couple from New Mexico, will be competing. Scheduled to perform are 12 of the top 16 4A and 5A bands from last year's state finals competition, including 4A Champion Air Academy and 5A Champion Legacy. Judges from across the nation will critique the bands and provide helpful feedback. Many of the schools in attendance can put this information to good use, as they will be participating in Colorado's annual state competition taking place next week. Preliminary competition starts around 9:15 AM with 25 bands performing in 15 minute intervals up to Preliminary Awards which will be announced around 4:45 PM. The 12 top-scoring bands regardless of classification qualify for FInals which will begin at 6:30 and end with awards at 10:00. Pomona High School will perform in exhibition prior to both Preliminary and Finals awards. Full day admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Half-day prices are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Programs will be available for $2. Visit the sales area inside the stadium for souvenir band merchandise.
