Seat you are seeking: Parker Town Council
Age: 39
Family: Married 15 years with two children ages 9 and 13.
Occupation: I am public school teacher for Douglas County Schools in Parker.
Hometown: As a military dependent and spouse, I have moved around most of my life. I consider Colorado my home state since I was born here, went to high school in Aurora, and college in Denver. My husband and I chose to stay in Parker when he retired from the Air Force because we love it here.
Your Web site: None at this time. Email:

Favorite local place to hang out: We enjoy the local restaurants and parks.
What do you like most about living here?: Parker is a great place to live because there is still a small town feel to the area. It is a great community to raise children due in part to the terrific Douglas County Schools and the numerous activities and sports available through the Parker Recreation center for children.
Interests & hobbies: I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, reading, skiing, and quilting in my free time.
Favorite TV show: Survivor and Amazing Race
Favorite Web site: CNN
People who inspired you (and how): My grandmother and great grandmother were very inspirational in my life. They both were raised and lived on an Indian Reservations, they worked hard to provide for their families, and believed that you could do anything you tried. They instilled in me my work ethic, creativity, and the belief in you can do anything if you keep trying.
How you have contributed to the community: I currently teach in my community at the middle school level. I also was a Girl Scout leader for three years and have organized and participated in numerous donation drives and fundraisers that have benefited the community.
What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: The biggest issue facing the residents of Parker is overdevelopment. While measured development can be good for the community, continued commercial building in many parts of the town is detracting from the small town feel of the community. More importantly, much of this building is going on while some existing businesses are failing and leaving commercial buildings sitting empty. We need to do our best to ensure new commercial development will benefit the community and be supported.
