What I do: I serve in the Colorado State House of Representatives-House District 29, Arvada and Westminster.
My favorite place in town to hang out: Anywhere with family and friends.
What I like most about living here: The beautiful changing seasons.
My interests and hobbies: puzzles, reading
My favorite thing to cook: Thanksgiving dinner
People who inspire me (and how): Robert and
John F Kennedy inspire me. Both had a true sense of compassion for all Americans and both worked tirelessly to improve our quality of life.
How I have contributed to the community: I have served the youth of my community for over 25 years through involvement and leadership of the Jefferson County PTA. I co-founded Y-Vote which educates and encourages young people to register and vote. I worked with Second Wind which provides counseling and other services to troubled teens. As State Representative I have continued this dedication to helping the families of my district.
The biggest issues facing us now: The biggest issues facing us now are education, affordable quality health care and the economy which includes transportation. Each has great influence on the overall quality of life in the Arvada/Westminster area.
Why I am running: I've devoted my life to listening to people and mobilizing them to take action. I want to continue working on our legislative promises to Colorado.
