Benefield connects with Arvada residents

A typical day in the life of Representative Debbie Benefield includes walking the neighborhoods of House District 29. Sept. 9 was a little different. On a cool fall day, Benefield joined in the fun of the Arvada Harvest Day Parade. Accompanied by many of her supporters, all dressed in red, Benefield shared handshakes and hugs with many parade viewers.

The festive atmosphere gave Benefield an opportunity to approach many residents who might otherwise hesitate to speak with a candidate. The parade also provided the spectators the chance to see her as a compassionate and friendly person who wants to connect with them. According to Benefield, "I want to show my neighbors that I am one of them,and to help them feel comfortable talking to me." For those who were still a bit shy, the chance to receive a Benefield sticker was hard to resist!
