Why Vote Absentee?
Contributed by: Cindy Kirby on 10/22/2006

Last Saturday I was privileged to walk my neighborhood with Congressman Mark Udall and Representative Debbie Benefield. What a treat. We were visiting voters who had requested an Absentee Ballot. Our goal was voter support of Congressman Udall and Representative Benefield, as well as, a reminder to send the ballot in as soon as possible.

It was interesting to see the expression on the faces of the residents when they opened their door to find their representatives on their door step. Many were amazed, most were very impressed, and some were somewhat tongue tied. In the true spirit of representation Udall and Benefield listened to constituent concerns and didn't leave until all questions were answered.

Election Day is not until November 7, what's the hurry? Many of your friends and neighbors have in fact voted already from the comfort of their own home. How you say? By Absentee Ballot and it's not too late for you to jump on the band wagon. Just go to www.debbiebenefield.org and click on Voter Registration/Absentee Ballot and there you will find deadlines and application forms.

With an Absentee Ballot, you can take all the time you need to sort through all the ballot issues and research the candidates. No waiting in lines, no fighting to get off work on time and no risky voting machines, just a nice neat paper ballot.

Give Absentee Voting a try-I am sure you will find it to be the easiest and most secure way to cast your precious vote and you might just open your door to find your representative there.
