Rising Curtain celebrates first year anniversary!
Contributed by: Rising Curtain on 8/25/2006

The Rising Curtain Theatre & Dance Academy, located in Arvada, recently celebrated their first anniversary in business. The performing arts school is a non-profit, tuition-based venture started by Arvadans Gail DeWitt and Tammy Franklin. Rising Curtain offers theatre and dance classes for students ages 4- adults.

Franklin and DeWitt are very proud of their first year, having produced Disney's "Beauty & The Beast", "101 Dalmatians" and "The Sound of Music", and 2 dance recitals, among other events. This year, the focus for younger kids will be Disney's "Aladdin" as well as the classic baseball musical, "Damn Yankees" for older students and "Miracle on 34th Street" for all ages. High schoolers will have the opportunity to travel to Anaheim, California for the Musical Theatre Competitions of America and a student trip to London's West End with EF Tours is planned for June of 2007.

The Rising Curtain is excited to be a part of the Arvada Harvest Festival Parade this year and finds Arvada a great place to be! They would especially like to thank the Arvada community for their support- the recent run of "The Sound of Music" was completely sold out for every performance.
