The League of Women Voters of Jefferson County braved the elements Aug. 26 to participate in "Lakewood on Parade." This was a celebration of the 30-year anniversary of the city of Lakewood. A LWV 2006 Citizenship Award winner, Jeremy Montano, joined league members passing out balloons and encouraging citizens to get out and vote. The rain stopped just prior to parade time so a fun time was had by all!

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, encourages the informed and active participation on government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
