were honored by the Masonic Officers Association along with with various Denver metropolitan-area students with 2008 Achievement Awards.
The Achievement Awards presented by this Association, since 1961, are to provide public recognition for outstanding public school students. Public schools have evolved from a program created by Freemasons, in New York State, during the 1820s. Freemasons believe in God, Charity and Brotherly Love. They also believe in a free and educated society and the pursuit of this axiom, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach him him how to fish so he can fish for a lifetime."
They also
give a heartful thanks to teachers and staff
who based their selections upon citizenship, integrity, leadership and scholarship. Who could be better qualified to recognize those attributes than the people who work closely with them? The above qualifications and the student's accord to accept the award are paramount. Race, color, creed, and religion are not considered.
Here we are presenting some of the builders and leaders of tomorrow. May all these students maintain the highest standards as they meet the many challenges which remain ahead.
Congratulations and best wishes to all our local winners and remember the words by
Edwin Markam
, "There is a destiny that makes us brothers. None goes his way alone. What we send into the lives of others, comes back into our own.
"Build your own legacy and take care of your reputation, it is your most important asset."
