SHOPPING OPTION FOR THOSE HIT HARD BY THE ECONOMY
Contributed by: Kristen Blessman on 5/6/2008

With the rise in gas prices, the tough Colorado economy and summer about to hit, many people are second-guessing their shopping habits. Well, imagine a world where the more you shopped, you actually helped people hit hard by the tough economy. All this, while shopping for name brand items AND being easy on your wallet. Goodwill Industries makes this dream a reality.

Many people are under the impression that used goods aren't quality goods. To dispel this myth and show the caliber of items found in local Goodwill stores, the organization is posting a "pick of the week" profile on www.goodwilldenver.org. You can be the first to reserve the outfit, handpicked by Goodwill's personal shopper. You can also see profiles of the people that are being helped by Goodwill's programs.

"By donating and shopping at Goodwill, you're friendly to the environment and contributing to Colorado's long-term sustainability," says Ric Berninzoni, Goodwill's Vice President of Retail Operations. "Re-using and recycling also helps with Goodwill's overall mission to assist people with barriers to employment. With this model, everyone wins."
