The ten student members of the A-West EPYCS club have worked hard all year as part of o
ne of the nation's largest youth philanthropy programs. EPYCS is a leadership experience that teaches high school students the importance of service, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector, while empowering them to directly make an impact on Colorado communities through grant-making. The A-West EPYCS club raised $500 through various fundraising activities in the fall. Their fundraising efforts were matched with a $7,500 grant from the El Pomar Foundation, based in Colorado Springs. The students then interviewed various nonprofits as part of their grant-making process to ensure that the organizations met the goals and mission of the A-West student body.
