If Buffalo Bill Days defines the heart and soul of Golden, then it's the great music that defines the heart and soul of Buffalo Bill Days. This year's entertainment includes many of the same popular bands of the past with an exciting new group headlining Saturday night.
On Friday, July 25th, local group Sons of the Burbs will kick off the celebration at 5:30PM and be the warm up for Chris Daniels and the Kings who hit the stage at 7PM and rock you until 10PM. This seven-piece band has been playing together for over 20 years and features loud and brassy horns to create a wonderful sound as they belt out blues, punch and bounce, soul and rock. They are guaranteed to fill the grassy dance floor in Parfet Park.
On Saturday, July 26th, music starts after the parade and Wild West Show at 1:30PM with the crazy and zany Blu Jazz followed by their companion band, Route 66 until 4:30PM. Pairadeux, that diverse duo of acoustic rock will warm up the crowd from 5PM until 6:30PM. Then, the headline group of Eleven Hundred Springs, a new band from the big D, Dallas, Texas will be here for the first time, courtesy of Fortune Valley Hotel and Casino. They will showcase their brand of honky-tonk country music from 7PM to 10PM. These guys have been playing together 10 years and will be sure to get everyone moving with their guitars, drums, and fiddle.
On Sunday, there will be local entertainment, especially dancers from 10:30-11:30AM followed by the return of the Celtic group, The Indulgers at Noon, who will once again present their blend of Irish, Scottish and American music creating a unique sound. They will finish at 2PM and a half hour later the last group of this three day celebration will again be the wildly popular local band, Runaway Express, who play a wonderful smorgasbord of county, rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae and whatever else they dream up. They have been playing together for 20 years, have an astounding repertoire of songs and will be a fitting end to this year's Buffalo Bill Days in Golden.
