Contributed by: Marcia Schafer on 7/21/2008

Basketball teams are invited to enter the Nothing But Nets 3 on 3 Tournament
to be held Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr St. The $10 team entrance fee buys one insecticide-treated net to save an African child from malaria.

High School teams are to be coed and will be guaranteed three games with levels of competition. Other ages are welcome to compete also. Call 303 421-5135 to register by July 30.

Nothing But Nets is a campaign of the United Nations Foundation to stamp out malaria. Denver's Rick Reilly, a former columnist for Sports Illustrated, launched the campaign which now is sponsored by the NBA, MLS, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Sports Illustrated, People of the United Methodist Church, and many others.
