Swing time in the Rockies
Contributed by: Bob Witters on 8/19/2008

Have the recent Olympics made you feel guilty about being a "couch potato"? Do you realize how many months have passed since your January resolution to exercise more? Are you and your "significant other" looking for an inexpensive social activity that you can enjoy together? Try Square Dancing!

Perhaps those two words bring back memories of awkward times in the school gym to the tune of "Red River Valley". Times have changed. Although there's an occasional western song, today's typical dance music includes country, swing, show tunes, gospel, jazz and even peppy classical. On the dance floor, the dress styles vary from traditional petticoats to contemporary street clothes, depending on individual choice. Some things are certain, though: fun-loving people, lots of laughter, and stimulating mental and physical exercise. It's time for you to find out what today's square dancing is all about.

A FREE introductory lesson, followed by an ice cream social, is being offered on Tuesday, September 9, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Maple Grove Grange at 32nd and Youngfield for interested couples. The fall beginner class will start the following Tuesday. Mark your calendar now for an evening of fun, compliments of the Rocky Mountain Squares. For more information, call 303-279-4392 or 303-989-2115.
Put more fun in your life. Try Square Dancing!
