Contributed by: Eujenia Renfroe on 11/13/2007

Denver Aesthetician and Acupuncturist team up to fight cellulite.

Cellulite: All women know what it is, and even in Denver, one of America's fittest and slimmest cities, we struggle against it.

Denver aesthetician Eujenia Renfroe, and acupuncturist Martha Lucas, Ph.D., L.Ac., have teamed up to help women fight cellulite. Their Cellulite Therapy program uses a combination of Chinese medicine's cupping therapy and detoxifying, contouring bodywraps. This relaxing yet effective treatment is designed to give you more smooth radiant skin all over but especially targeted at those trouble spots where cellulite gathers.

Cellulite is the lumpy, irregular fatty depositing that make women's skin look dimpled. It most often happens on our hips, buttocks, and thighs. It's not just caused by fat cells though, over time our connective tissue becomes tighter and more rigid, causing that subcutaneous layer of fat to bulge and dimple into the skin. Sluggish circulation contributes also, holding fluid and toxins in those same layers, contributing to the appearance of cellulite.

According to Chinese medicine, the cause of cellulite is excess dampness in the body. Very often poor digestion is the root cause of both cellulite and being overweight. Therefore, acupuncture and herbal prescriptions may also be advised for maximum results. A combination of dieting and exercise is always a good
strategy to eliminate cellulite but cellulite deposits are locked awayand cannot be readily used for fuel so can be stubborn. That's where our Cellulite Therapy comes in!

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medical technique that can help gently stretch and loosen the connective tissue, so the skin lies more smoothly, and there is less pressure on that surface layer of fat cells - which helps lessen the dimpling. Cupping also increases the blood and lymph circulation in those surface layers and promotes the development of new collagen and elastin - resulting in firmer skin.

The other half of our cellulite therapy is our detoxifying contour body wrap. These body wraps increase the blood and lymph circulation and help eliminate toxins trapped in those subcutaneous layers of tissue. The body wraps help firm the skin and give our clients some body contouring. They aren't compression wraps, however, and they do not dehydrate the body.

Cellulite Therapy is a six week treatment plan. You receive one cupping treatment per week and one body wrap per week. Additionally you receive Maintain lotion, Liliflora Organic Detox Exfoliation salts,a dry brush with instructions for dry brushing to do at home along with nutrition advice. Chinese herbal formulas may also be recommended.
