Celebrating the Season

By Brenda Bott

Have you ever wondered what happened to all those old-time, small gift shops? Well, a quaint, adventurous example is thriving in Arvada. It's HomeScapes and it's located in the Safeway Center on the southwest corner of 64th Avenue and Ward Road. It's a great place to celebrate the season.

When you walk in the front door of HomeScapes, it's like coming home, or taking a step back in time to simpler days. With every step, there's a new discovery. Decorated in assorted venues and styles throughout the year, HomeScapes always looks a little different each time you visit. The HomeScapes staff works very hard to keep the store's look new, fresh and seasonal.

As you walk through the store, you encounter a kitchen area filled with bright and exciting dishware, linens, distinct table settings and accents. From there you wander into the living room, bistro or outdoor patio area, depending on the season and the mood. There's also an area filled entirely with an impressive selection of Brighton jewelry and accessories. To top it off, HomeScapes has lodge accessories, personal bath items, window coverings, rugs, pillows, chimes, paper goods and wall decor. The more you look around, the more you'll find.

Visiting HomeScapes is an escape from the everyday hustle and bustle that tends to engulf our lives. Visitors' comments include: "I love coming into your store -- it's my little getaway from every day life!", "I never go into your store without coming away with something that I just couldn't live without," "I have always found items that make perfect gifts for any occasion," and "You certainly have an eye for different and unique items that you display in such a lovely manner."

Fall and winter are big seasons at HomeScapes. Right now, you can find all those unique decorations for Halloween and Thanksgiving to make your guests smile. Before Christmas, HomeScapes converts into a "wonderland" and is a holiday visual experience. In business for 12 years, come take a look while it's still Arvada's best-kept secret. You must experience this little shop -- if you don't agree it's truly a gem, I'd be very surprised. No matter what season it is, HomeScapes will help you celebrate it.

An added note: HomeScapes is featured in the upcoming "Community Treasures" Edition for Colorado scheduled for release this winter.
