Fall Fun at Festival of Scarecrows
Contributed by: Linda L Olson on 9/22/2006

Fall is friendly and fun for all, (except crows,) during the 10 th Annual Festival of Scarecrows in Olde Town Arvada Saturday, October 14 th starting at 10:00 a.m. in Olde Town Square, 57 th & Olde Wadsworth.

Costumed kids will parade through the streets starting at 11:00 a.m.; the costume-challenged will be inspired with costume ideas at the Surplus Spooktacular at noon, across the street at Arvada Army Navy Surplus. Free hayrides will carry the festive through town from 10:30-1:30, allowing all to view the inspired scarecrow creations. They'll be spooky, cute, whimsical and boo-tiful. Entries into this no-crow scarecrow creation competition are due by October 12 th at the Historic Olde Town Arvada office.

Celebrants will enjoy the 1920's vintage fire truck, and a canned food donation for the Arvada Fire Department's drive for the Arvada Food Bank admits giggling goblins to the kids puzzle maze.

For more information call the Historic Olde Town Arvada office at (303) 420-6100 or visit the website at www.historicarvada.org.
