Concert to honor Colorado's fallen veterans
Contributed by: Rick Crandall on 5/13/2006

Aurora, CO - May 12, 2006 - For many Colorado residents, Memorial Day weekend means the unofficial start of summer.

This year the Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation hopes to return the true meaning of the weekend, honoring those killed while serving their country, by presenting the Concert for Colorado's Fallen Veterans on May 21 at 1p.m. at the Wings Over the Rockies Air Space Museum.

"Some 6000 Colorado veterans have been killed in action since we became a state in 1876," said Rick Crandall, Colorado Freedom Memorial Foundation President. "We owe it to them, and the families they've left behind, to honor that sacrifice as often as possible, and certainly during Memorial Day."Crandall added, "The concert features music from some of Colorado's finest musicians, a special presentation by the Lt. Governor, Jane Norton, to the families of those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and other special moments to pay our respects."

The Concert for Colorado's Fallen Veterans is a benefit for the Colorado Freedom Memorial. The program will feature music from The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra, The Nacho Men, Opie Gone Bad, The Sound of The Rockies chorus and Fascinatin Rhythm. Tickets are $10 and are available by calling 303-248-3990.
