Avid golfer's love letter -- a parody
Contributed by: Rodney Foster on 1/31/2007

Michael, an avid golfer since his teens, has just married his fiancee of five years. It is Valentine's Day morning. Michael, who loves golf more than anything in his life, wants his new bride to feel his love for her, as well. After careful thought, he decides to write her a poetic Valentine letter comparing his love for her to his love for golf. Then she'll know how much he loves her. This is Michael's "love letter."

To my Sweetheart on Valentine's Day!

I love you Darling, more than any lady I have seen.
A love just like I feel when my approach shot hits the green.
I love you when you're all dressed up; your beauty's all I see.
A love as great as when I'm set up, standing on the tee.

I love you Dear, I love you in a very special way.
Almost as much as when my drive lands on the first fairway.
I love you Darling, love you with my heart and with my soul.
It's like the love of seeing my long putt roll in the hole.

I love you when you're sitting there and reading a good book.
Such love compares to when, around a tree, I hit a hook.
I love you Darling, for you're very sweet and oh, so nice.
It makes me feel the same as when I want, and hit a slice.

I love you when you're naked and I see you "in the raw".
It's like the beauty when I hit a drive and it's a draw.
I love you when you're sitting there, relaxing in the shade.
You're beautiful, like when I need and hit a long, deep fade.

I love to take a walk with you and gently hold your hand.
It's soft and it reminds me of a great shot from the sand.
I love you and I also feel the love you have for me.
It feels so good, like when my wedge shot flies over a tree.

It's lonely when you're gone; I feel that we have lost our bond.
It feels the same as when I hit my ball into the pond.
I love you Darling, when we argue; when you're really tough.
It's like when I make a bad shot; my ball lands in the rough.

I love you when you've had your shower; your hair is soaking wet.
Almost as much as when I win the match, collect my bet.
Yes, Darling, I love you in every way you'll ever know.
I've got to meet my foursome, so right now I have to go.

For some reason, Michael can't find his golf clubs!
