Air Force Senior Master Sgt.
Bryan K. Rainey
was nominated for consideration in the selection process of being one of the Air Force's 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year for 2005.
Nominees from major commands, direct reporting units and air staff agencies compete to be one of the final 12 final selectees of the Air Force's top enlisted members award. The final 12 airmen are selected by an Air Force selection board based on superior leadership, job performance, community involvement and personal achievements.
The nominees are authorized to wear the Outstanding Airman of the Year ribbon. The 12 winners wear the bronze star on the ribbon and the Outstanding Airman Badge for one year from the formal presentation.
Rainey is a first sergeant assigned to the 21st Medical Group at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. He has served in the military for 21 years. He is the son of
Cyrus L. Rainey
, of Arvada, and
Dale Boyd
, of San Antonio, Texas. The senior master sergeant is a 1983 graduate of Southwest High School in San Antonio.
