In celebration of an exceptional life

Rachel Elizabeth Gilbert, a longtime Arvada resident, left this world for God's promise on July 21, 2008. She was 73 years old and was a victim of pulmonary fibrosis.

Rachel was a military wife who moved to Colorado, upon her husband's retirement from a service career, in 1972. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver for her mother-in-law for over 15 years and a devout lover of the Colorado mountains.She was the biggest supporter of her her daughter & son-in-law's non-profit theatre school, The Rising Curtain Theatre Academy, and loved to see the students there perform. Rachel is survived by her husband of 51 years, Harry "Sarge" Gilbert, 1 daughter, Tammy Franklin, and 2 grandsons, Peter and Cole Franklin, all of Arvada,one brother, Vern Fackrell, and one sister, Selma VanDercreek, both of Blackfoot, Idaho. 2 twin granddaughters are expected in December. Interment will be at Ft. Logan Ntl. Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund at Wells Fargo Bank branches, under "Memorial for Rachel Gilbert".
