Girl Scout Troop # 299 from Lincoln Academy and Hackberry Hill Elementary schools in Arvada ended the year on a high note, 1,053 above the canyon floor at the Royal Gorge in Canon City. As this troop of amazing young ladies moves up from Junior to Cadette Girl Scouting, they have much to be proud of.

Nicole G., Kaleigh H., Katie H., Karli R., Alyssa R., Abby S., Ashley S., Brittany S., and Hannah Z.
have been members of Girl Scouting between five and seven years. They have earned over 50 different Junior level badges within their troop. These have included learning about the arts, sciences, nature, personal health and communication.
Outside of our troop, the girls have earned more than 30 other badges that have interested them individually. Some of these included water activities such as snorkeling and boating, family heritage, music, sports and hobbies. They have spent many hours of service sharing their newfound skills in their schools, and in the local community. In the last three years, these fourteen young ladies have grown in leadership skills and have learned to work as a team. They have earned their Girl Scout Bronze award, the highest award in Junior Girl Scouts, by planning and running an overnight Luau event, that was attended bymore thaneighty scouts and their leaders.
To celebrate their accomplishments and successes in Girl Scouting, they spent a fun weekend at the Royal Gorge enjoying to sights and heights of the bridge, inclined railway and the aerial tramway. As they continue their studies in local middle schools, and continue to grow as friends and as a troop, we applaud their growth into the leaders of the future.
