Congratulations to Allison K. Newman and her fellow Pomona Class of 2007 graduates.

It was a busy week with the senior reception, baccalaureate and the grand finale of graduation. And I got through it all without once having to whip out a tissue. Instead I found myself smiling and laughing on many occasions. Captain Carbon's presentation in lieu of the mysteriously absent Dr. Tom Bindel, the senior video and the really comfortable seats in Faith Bible's auditorium were baccalaureate highlights.

The graduation ceremony was full of traditions...Go Big Black; Pomp and Circumstance; speakers; singers; honoring favorite elementary, middle school and Pomona teachers; trying to find your kid when it's time to go home. There was even some rain. Pomona's marching band community probably found that to be a nice touch.

Now that she has officially graduated, it's on to the next step. That would be college, out of state. Anybody got a kleenex?
