Class of 1937’s reunion yielded familiar faces

The Arvada High School Class of 1937 celebrated its 70th class reunion on June 13 at the Chalet Restaurant, located at 7340 W. 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Lunch was served along with a "Redskin" cake and ice cream. A small gift was presented to each class member in attendance. Those pictured are the actual members of the class.

Some of the other attendees were Merrill ( Mrs. Dale) McClelland, Mary ( Mrs. George) West, Virginia ( Mrs. Jimmie) Matoyama, Marie ( Bob's widow) Meininger, Charlotte ( Phil's widow) Graves. Erda Covi Francis brought her daughter DeeDee and sister Evelyn. Other members of the class who live in the area are Brainard Disbrow, Winifred Hicks, Hilda Petersen Wardle, Ruth Thode Engstrom, Eleanor Marcum Reed and Jeanette Zeller Johnson. The members of the class of 1937 were all born between November 1918 and August 1919.

Sprague Rodda, George West, Jeanette Zeller Johnson, Enaze Hurd Fox, Gladys Peterson Kerr, Dale Branaman, Bob Meininger, Phil Graves and George Klunker all attended school together from kindergarten through the 12th grade.
