It's hotter than a firecracker!
Contributed by: Pamela Embrey on 6/30/2008

June 30 at about 3:30 p.m., I smelled something burning outside my window. My husband said call the fire department we have a fire in the field. Right directly outside my front door the field was ablaze with a mean orange and red blanket. Lucky that the fire house was right up the street on Vance and 81st. St. They were there in a flash and worked for two hours in 90 degree heat. We were so thankful to have such a crew of caring and compassionate men working for our fair city. As I look outside now we have a view of blacken ashes but thankful none was hurt. You are awesome No.5 Firehouse!
