Food Drive to Benefit Jeffco Action Center

Southwest Region Woman's Club, part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs www.gfwc.org, held a food drive today to benefit Jeffco Action Center(JAC). The industrious ladies stood outside a local grocery store for six hours and asked customers to donate something from JAC's wish list. All the items will go to replenish the shelves of the JAC food bank. Sophia Kingsley, a club member said, "I'm glad to take a few hours to do something simple that will have a great impact on the community". Southwest Region Woman's Club wants to thank the generous people who donated. Even though the busy shoppers were getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday, many people took the time to help. Southwest Region Woman's Club is still tallying the count, but it is believed they collected over $700 worth of food. Way to go ladies! We are proud to have a group of caring women like you looking out for our community.
