Contributed by: YourHub.com on 6/30/2008

Police Blotter - Arvada

Prank bomb threat
At 2:19 p.m. June 13, officers responded to a bomb threat left on a home answering machine on the 8200 block of Jay Circle. The reporting party told officers she received a call from an unknown number and the male voice on the answering machine said, "There's a bomb in your building." She said she thought it was a prank because her and her husband's business GLC Fire Protection is run out of their home, not a building. She also said they don't have any disgruntled clients. Officers told the woman how to trace a call in the event she received any more harassing phone calls or any threatening messages and requested an extra patrol in the area.

Alarm activated
An alarm was activated at Shift Dynamics, 6340 W. 56th Ave. at approximately 5:29 p.m. June 13. When officers responded, the operations manager said she received a phone call from her alarm company that the alarm had been activated in the business and that somebody without the code answered the phone. The woman was baffled someone would answer the phone because nobody was supposed to be at the business. The woman said the alarm company said the person who answered the phone only spoke Russian and the person wasn't anyone that worked at Shift Dynamic's. The woman reported the north garage door was the only door that alarmed and that it is only able to open from the inside. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing from the business.

Motorbike stolen
At 12:12 p.m. June 14, an officer responded to a motor vehicle theft on the 5900 block of West 66th Avenue. The homeowner said the house was vacant, but there were a number of items in the backyard. He reported missing a green and white 1976 Antique Kawasaki Enduro Motorbike worth approximately $1400 and freezer worth approximately $75. He told the officer he had no idea who took the items.
