Arvada police detectives are investigating a homicide occurring in the 6800 block of Newcombe Street, just after 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 17.
It's alleged
Louise Jekowski
, 53 (DOB: 11/15/54) strangled her mother,
Ardyce Jekowski
, 87. The two lived together lived together in the home on Newcombe Street.
Louise Kejowski was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail where she's being held without bond on suspicion of first degree murder.
The Jefferson County Coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Ardyce's death.
Police were initially called to the scene on a report of a first aid - party not breathing - call; however, it was later reclassified as a homicide.
This is the first homicide reported in Arvada in 2008.

It's nice to see the Arvada police dept. represented here... I believe you are the spokesperson for the dept.? Sad story though...Unbelievable what Arvada has seen in the last year...
