Police on the lookout for Smoker Friendly robbers
Contributed by: Westminster Police Department on 2/15/2008

Westminster and Arvada Police are looking for the community's help in identifying suspects that are responsible for robberies in both cities. Police believe this group is responsible for a robbery on Jan. 6 at the Smoker Friendly at 7540 Sheridan Blvd and another robbery at the Smoker Friendly at 7953 Wadsworth Blvd.

The suspects were in the Westminster store hours before they returned and robbed the business. At about 4:50 pm three suspects returned and forced the store clerk at gunpoint to give them access to the cash register, safe, and security system. The store clerk was then taken to the back of the store, where his hands and feet were bound with tape.

The suspects operated in a similar fashion in the Arvada robbery. On January 29 at 8:05 p.m., two suspects entered the store and again forced the clerk at gunpoint to give them access to the cash register, safe, and security surveillance system. The clerk was then taken to the back office, where his hands and feet were bound with tape.

In both robberies the suspects were described as follows:

· Suspect 1: 6'0", 175 lbs. Caucasian, light complexion, scruffy facial hair, wearing all black clothing

· Suspect 2: 5'8", 150 lbs. Caucasian, freckled complexion, wearing all black clothing

· Suspect 3: 5'6", 130 lbs. Caucasian, wearing all black clothing

KEY NOTE: One suspect was seen wearing a black stocking cap with a star on it and "9 POTA." During both robberies, it appeared that the suspects were communicating with each other by speaking Russian.

Police hope someone will be able to identify the unique stocking cap seen in the photograph or their use of what appears to be Russian during the robberies.

(Suspect is seen wearing all black)

These suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Police encourage you to call 911 if you see these individuals or know of their whereabouts. Do not attempt to contact them by yourself.
