Arvada Police

VICTIM OF ID THEFT FIGHTS DUI CHARGE
A 36-year-old Arvada man told police at 4 p.m. April 2 that he had gone to the DMV to report a lost driver's license and found out that his license was under suspension because of a 2005 DUI charge in Missouri. The man became suspicious, as he had never had a DUI or been to Missouri. Police sent the man's photograph and fingerprints to a police station in Missouri, where officers there verified that he was not the person who had been arrested in 2005. According to police records, the man who had received the DUI went to court and paid fines relating to the crime. Arvada police began the process of clearing the innocent man's record, as well as requested that Missouri police send suspect's photo in hopes the Arvada man could identify him.

OFFICER GETS SECOND CHANCE AT ARREST
An officer on the way to the site of an intrusion alarm noticed a green sedan swerving and driving erratically on the 6800 block of Simms Street at 11:13 p.m. April 2, but was unable to pursue the driver due to the other obligation. After responding to the alarm call, the officer was driving at West 64th Avenue and Ward Road at 11:54 p.m. when the same green sedan appeared right in front of the police car. The officer pulled the car over after watching the driver swerve repeatedly. The 46-year-old driver displayed signs of intoxication and was taken to the police department, where he received summonses on suspicion of DUI and failure to drive in a single lane.

Wheat Ridge Police

WOMAN'S EX INTERRUPTS HER WORK FLOW
A 31-year-old woman called police to her home on the 6100 block of West 48th Avenue at 10:55 a.m. April 20 to report that her 39-year-old ex-boyfriend had been calling her at work, which was making it difficult for her to get her work done. The woman said she hadn't told her ex to stop calling, and she asked the officer to do it. Police called the man and encouraged him to break off the phone contact. He said he didn't want to get into any trouble and would stop calling.

YourHub.com collected these reports from area police and sheriff agencies. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
