Police look to ID iPhone thief

Arvada Police and a host of law enforcement organizations from across the country are working to identify a suspect allegedly responsible for stealing more than $70,000 in iPhones from AT&T stores.

On December 16, 2008, just after 10 a.m., it's believed the suspect shown in the image went into the AT&T store at 5131 Kipling St. and used a fraudulent pre-paid debit card to purchase three iPhones, two iTunes gift cards, and miscellaneous iPhone merchandise.

He later sold at least one of the popular cell phones on the Internet here in Colorado.

It's believed he's committed similar crimes in Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma and Utah.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, approximately 20 years of age. He's believed to be 5' 7" tall, 130-140 lbs, and may have a goatee. He is also described as "neatly dressed" and wore a dark-colored stocking cap or beanie during the transaction at the Arvada AT&T store. He may be associated with a black Jeep Grand Cherokee as well.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Arvada Police Department at 720-898-6900.
