Calling All Cyclists: Ride to Empower Gears Up!

The Breast Cancer Network of Strength, formerly known as Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, will be hold two information sessions in May in preparation for their upcoming event, Ride to Empower.
The Ride to Empower is a destination bike ride taking place in Solvang, Calif. during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 23-26, 2008. The Breast Cancer Network of Strength is recruiting cyclists to participate on the Colorado Team. Laura LeBlanc and Julie Stevens, certified cycling coaches, will train with the Colorado Team prior to the event. Cyclists will undertake the challenge of a century ride with 4,900 feet of climbing through the California wine country.
Cyclists who raises $4,000 will receive airfare (from within the contiguous U.S.), accommodations and all meals. This area is a prominent training ground for professional cycling teams and follows the same route that Lance Armstrong used to train for the Tour de France.
Colorado has a goal of 20 cyclists to for Team Rocky Mountain. The funds raised for the Breast Cancer Network of Strength will ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.

The Breast Cancer Network of Strength offers the only multilingual, 24-hour hotline staffed entirely by trained breast cancer survivors, who answer more than 41,000 calls per year. The Breast Cancer Network of Strength Rocky Mountain Affiliate also offers support groups, breast health awareness workshops and outreach programs for anyone touched by breast cancer.
