Low cost shade trees are available to residents of Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Westminster from "Trees Across Arvada." The program is part of the Colorado Tree Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, renewing, and enhancing Colorado's community forests. The trees are all low-to-moderately-low water use varities. On arrival, trees are 8 to 12 feet tall and 1 to 11/2 inches in diameter. Tree cost ranges from $25.00 to $45.00. Both balled & burlapped and bare root trees are available. Trees are ordered by December 1,2009, paid for in January, and distributed for planting in mid-April, 2010.
