Unfortunately, disasters do not handpick who they will hit and harm. Therefore, all areas of business need to be ready in case of emergency, even daycare facilities. Daycare facilities are the places we entrust with our children, those who cannot care for themselves in the everyday, let alone in an emergency. It is for this reason that we must ensure that our daycares have taken the necessary precautions to plan for an emergency situation.
Knowing what to do, what you need and where you would turn for a variety of disasters is a key element of preparedness. The Adams County and Aurora Offices of Emergency Management along with the North Metro Fire Rescue District would like to invite you to attend a session on emergency preparedness geared to daycare facilities. Through an introductory session on Daycare Emergency Preparedness you will find out what questions you should be asking so that you can enhance your daycare's readiness through emergency planning, procedures and response.
This training is free and will include information on what to expect from your first responders and what your responsibilities are as a business. You will come away with ideas on how to train for incidents from an all-hazards point of view.
This class is intended for daycare administrators or owners who would like to gain a better understanding of how to prepare their facility for a disaster or emergency. Please join us on Thursday, May 10, 2007 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the North Metro Fire Rescue District Station 62, located at 10550 Huron Street, Northglenn, CO 80234.
